I just had to share this story! We have some very good friends that are from England that we met while we were stationed over there. We became very close as they were waiting to bring their second daughter home from China at the same time we were waiting for Faith. Well, the summer before last they went over to China to volunteer their time at an orphanage. They were hoping it would also turn into something more permanent as they eventually wanted to go over there to live. While there they worked with a little baby boy that has Down Syndrome. They fell in love with him and they found out he was available on the special needs waiting list with an agency here in the US. When they arrived back home to England they tried desperately to try and find a way they could adopt him. (In England they do not have a program for special needs adoptions from China) After not having any luck getting around all the "red tape" they had no choice but to give up and have faith that he would find his family. (The latest news they had was that he had not found a family) They also hoped that maybe once in China more permanent they could find out more about his progress. They had no way of finding out what was happening with this baby boy they cared about so much. I remember them emailing me photos of their time with him in China. He was precious.
Well, today I received an email from a friend of mine ( I have known her for over 20 years as we were best friends in high school) saying she thought I would enjoy this story of the link below. My friend has an adorable son that has Down Syndrome and the story she sent is about a little boy in China with Down Syndrome that found his forever family. Well, when I opened the link I had chills!!! Right away I knew it was baby James the same baby that our friends had hoped to adopt!!! He DID find his forever family!! The family had to go through several obstacles to bring him home, but in reading their beautiful story it was all meant to be!
Our friends from England left this past summer to go and live over in China where they are working with an orphanage. I emailed them immediately to share the news with them. I know they will have peace knowing this baby they care so much about has his forever family. Things always seem to work out how they are meant to be. I find it amazing that this little baby boy from China touched the lives of our friends from England and then a year and a half later his story touched my long time friend too and she shared it with me. Now I'm able to pass on the great news to my friends. It is such a small world!!! (It just so happens I am in the middle of getting a box of goodies together to send to China for them.) Looks like this precious little boy has touched many lives. I know he has touched mine!!
