I honestly did not think Faith was going to make it to her party. There was a 24 hour stomach bug going around her preschool class and the past 2 days she hadn't been herself...... she was now complaining of her tummy hurting, and she was very tired. Here she was 30 minutes before we needed to leave to the jump and bounce place where she was having her party.........
She fell asleep right in the middle of trying to eat her kid cuisine meal. (I know, not the healthiest thing to be eating especially if your tummy is upset, but I wanted her to try and eat something before we left and this is what she requested......it was her day after all!) Poor baby...and in 30 minutes we had to leave for her party. (She is wearing a shirt that was mine when I was little. My Grandma made it for me and my Mom saved it all these years. I have another one as well that Faith likes to wear. She wears them to sleep in. It's so sweet to see her wearing clothes that I actually wore when I was little and that my Grandma made)
I let her sleep down to the last few minutes that it was time to go.( Notice the batman band aides on her arms......she has been obsessed with band aides lately. She puts them on even the tiniest of boo boos she gets, even her mosquito bites. ) Also notice the rollers in her hair.....I tried to curl her hair for her party, but it didn't take very well. Don't know what I was thinking trying to curl her hair anyway going to a jump and bounce place.
I am happy to say that she made it through her party!
She was happy and excited to see all of her friends and although not feeling the greatest she enjoyed all the bouncing! There was only one time she came to me saying her tummy was hurting and she wanted to lay down for a minute. I'll be posting a slide show of all the photos from the party. I took tons...of course!
I am soooo happy she made it through to enjoy her 5 Year Old party!!! It really was a blessing!!!! For some reason she was able to fight it and she never really got it like her classmates did. By Monday she was feeling back to herself and her appetite was back. She was able to enjoy her last day of school on Monday and her end of the year program that evening.
(I felt really bad the evening of the program.......as the kids were all walking out to go up on stage one of Faith's little friends that was at her party got sick and threw up. Ohhhhh, I felt terrible for her and her parents. That was something I had been dreading would happen to Faith all week-end. Now with her birthday and school over I give her the OK to get sick!;)
Originally we were going to have Faith's birthday party at home. The past 12 years all of our children's parties have been at home. With them all having summer birthdays this has been convenient as we have backyard pool parties. Faith wanted to have a backyard bug party. "Bug"? You know she has brothers. Well, when the time came to start planning it, Faith decided she wanted her party at our local jump and bounce place. I was hesitant at first, but then decided hey, after 12 years of parties and all the cleaning before and after them maybe this isn't such a bad idea. Besides 5 Years Old is a pretty big deal and I knew this would be the last year being able to let Faith invite her entire school class. After this year I would only have 5 or 6 of her friends over. Sooooo, the jump and bounce place it was!!!! I tried to tie her "bug" theme in there with a butterfly pull string pinata, butterfly and ladybug cake, and some cute butterfly party hats. The party was a hit and everyone had a great time. I have to admit as much as I missed having it at home, I did not miss the cleaning up! That was soooo nice!!! It was funny though because the employees had to keep telling me "We do that, you don't have to do that!" I kept wanting to serve everyone and do everything and all I was suppose to do was sit back and enjoy the party. Sit back and enjoy the party, huh????? I was able to get TONS of pictures which was great! I plan to put a DVD together for all the guests. I did even do some sliding down the big slide with all the kiddos and actually survived!
Slide show coming up !!

The birthday sounds like so much fun for the kids. I am so glad that Faith perked up in time to make it.
Poor kid! But she is a trooper isn't she? It looks like she had a great time and I'm going to have to look into one of those bounce places!
