Happy Valentines Day

I couldn't let the day pass by without wishing each of you a very Happy Valentines Day!!!! Hope your day was filled with love and all that makes your heart sing~

(Faith dressed for school in honor of CNY)

I am not accomplishing as much on my 'blog break' as I was hoping to! lol! For one thing I came down with what I think was the flu. Thankfully no one else in the family came down with it. Of course I was the only one that did NOT get the flu shot! I will slowly be getting back into blogging as I still have some things I want to get caught up on first.

We have had a nice quiet Valentine's Day at home together. We gave the kids their goodies this morning and Dale and I plan to watch a movie tonight and try our best not to fall asleep! lol (this always happens to me!)
Faith woke us up this morning by dumping all of her Valentine's all over us and reading each one. She LOVES her Valentines! It is so cute how these simple cards mean the world to them at this age.

Dean's class had to write poems and then recite them to the parents on Friday. They did such a great job. They got to dress in "hippy garb". The teacher dimmed the lights and we all snapped our fingers instead of clapping as they each performed. It was a lot of fun watching the kids perform with so much emotion.
Here is Dean's poem:

Above in the Sky

The great ball of orange light
reports the morning
when it peeks over the hills,
it may decide
to play a game
and hide behind a cloud,
it keeps us warm
with its scorching glares,
it's bright face shields itself
from our many glances
in the evening
as it precipitates towards the ground,
it paints a perfect picture in the sky
of magenta,
violet,
and creamy orange,
then it falls asleep
waiting to meet and have fun with us
the next day.
~Dean

I think Reed had the most exciting Valentines Day of all! His 6th grade teacher put on music and made all of the girls and boys dance with each other in class. Reed was so cute as he came running to me after school to tell me all about it. You have to know that Reed and his friends are all "very young" 6th graders and not into girls yet at all. (Which I am very thankful for!) All they care about is running around and getting dirty. When they go to their school dances they are as far away from the girls as possible and consider jumping up and down on the dance floor dancing!lol! Reed said when his teacher told him what they had to do he felt like he was going to be sick and wanted to run out of the room. Ohhhh it was the cutest thing and I had to bite my lip from laughing too hard. As soon as we got home he had to call Dale at work to tell him all about it. I think this will be a Valentines Day he will always remember! :)

Oh! I am slow, but I have finally gotten around to figuring out how to display the "blog followers." I would feel honored and would love to have you sign in!!! :)
