We're In!!!!

We have been in our new house a little over a week now and it is beginning to feel like home!!
We hired movers to move our furniture and we are still making trips to our old house for clothes, kitchen items, and just stuff! Just when I think I am making some progress with unpacking, Dale brings another load and it starts all over again! Seems endless right now, but I know we'll get there.

Our bedroom is the only room (besides my new kitchen!) that is all put together and in place.......(of course it is covered with clothes at the moment that need to be put away:)
We had not had new bedroom furniture for ourselves in almost 20 years and what we did have was kind of a hodge podge of different pieces. So we treated ourselves and bought a new bedroom set......

I really love how it turned out. The love seat is from our old sofa set from 15 years ago. When we lived in Spain I had these white slipcovers made for it and I love them because I can just throw them in the wash. Everyone would always ask, how can you have such white sofas with kids and dogs? Little did they know I was washing these constantly! I love the white, but as the boys are getting older and with 2 dogs it was getting to be a pain washing them all the time. We purchased a new sectional for the family room in a khaki color but I really wanted to be able to use the old love seat. I think it goes perfect in our room. The walls turned out a little bluer than we wanted, but I am really liking the color. It is nice and calming.

The kids really love their new rooms. I was really worried that Faith might have a tough time adjusting to a new house. The last time we moved she was pretty young and doesn't have too much memory from it. I prepared myself for maybe some rough nights of sleeping. Surprisingly she has had no adjustment problems at all!!! She LOVES her new room and is actually falling asleep better. She has always had issues of not being able to sleep in total darkness and has always needed some kind of light on. Because of this I have never been able to close her door at night. Well, now in her new room she is actually asking me to close her door at night! She is constantly telling me how much she loves her new room.

I decided to keep the wall color it was already painted. Faith is not a "pink" kind of girl and the walls are a soft ocean blue. I found this "shabby chic" comforter set at T@rget on clearance and it goes perfectly.

Last time we were in Sonoma Faith had to have this magnetic calendar. It goes so sweet in her room. I also found the lamp below at Home G00ds and it goes perfectly. I love the little birds.
I'd show you more but it is covered in boxes and toys (mainly legos and books) at the moment.

I'm not prepared this year for Chinese New Year which falls on the same day as Valentines (not prepared for that either:), but I did manage to get my bowl of oranges out for "good luck'"!
They came yesterday and installed the fence around our pool. I love it! I'll take pictures and post those next. We decided to go with the rod iron and we went with a bronze color instead of black. Ruby (our Golden) was in the pool constantly...even in the rain and cold......so it is sooo nice having the fence up now! My house was smelling like wet dog all the time!!

Things are slowly coming along. Moving is a lot of work, but fun and exciting too!
Better get busy putting more things away before I need to get the kids in a couple hours!

Congratulations on your beautiful new home!! That is such huge news. i loved my comment you left. I went back and forth for years so i know what you mean! We are loving this sofa but the only way i went through with it is that it was so inexpensive that I think I can get another when the teens are gone. Mostly John and I stick with what we have forever! Stuck more like it at times. Once I had a bedspread for 12 years. That is TOO long to have a bedspread but John had picked it out himself as a anniversary gift and paid too much.,. lol

Anywa, I ADORE the way you decorate. Such pretty colors!! I have to do a post on baileys room soon but never get the walls painted or curtains in.

Anyway, that is a huge transition and just know i am keeping you in my prayers. You are still in NoCal, right?!!?!?!?
