I have neglected to post here over the last few weeks as I really wanted to just slow down and enjoy the the holidays and the kids being off from school. We have also had so much going on with getting our house prepared to move into. We are just about finished with the painting and our kitchen back splash tile will be put on tomorrow. There are lots of other small projects we want to do, but they will have to wait for another time. With the holidays over we are so anxious now to just get settled into our home! Our goal is to be moved in by the end of this month. We are renting a u haul this week-end and getting the garage moved first. (Or Dale is getting the garaged moved I should say;) We have so much "stuff" we want to get rid of and not bring with us. I have been so overwhelmed by it all. With all of the years having the military pack and move us I guess I never seemed to mind all the stuff. I would just unpack and find a place for it. Now with us doing it all ourselves I realize we hung on to too much way too long. I want to declutter and get better organized.
I need some help from those of you that have swimming pools or know someone that does. We are having a tough time deciding on a fence for around our swimming pool. I definitely want one around it. Dale does not feel we need one, as we do not have toddlers, but he knows how strongly I feel about it so we are trying to decide what to go with. I would be happy with a mesh fence, but Dale really does not want one of these. He would like to go with a rod iron fence which I really like too, but they are more expensive and would not be so easy to remove if we choose to one day. I'd love to hear from some of you that have swimming pools or just anyone that might have an opinion. We love our pool. It is what sold us on our home. We look forward to using it a lot and enjoy sitting out by it and eating out there. The water fall is so pretty all lit up at night. But. I will be honest. Having a pool does make me very nervous too. So I will feel so much better once a fence is put around it. Feel free to email me too if you would rather do that.
And just because I can't not post at least one Christmas photo, here is Faith pretending to be Santa...............

Welcome back and happy new home to you all :) We have the black iron fence around our pool and we love it. You can still see the pool and all the landscaping around it. I think even if your kids are older, it's always safest to have a fence...you never know what can happen. Also, when you have company over - it is a good idea too incase there are small children. Good luck on your decision :) Pools are SO fun, but VERY worrysome (sp?) too!
I love the pict. I like the rod iorn fences and they look very, very able to keep small children out!
Welcome back and Happy New Year!! I took a little break too....it is nice to sit back, relax and enjoy some time away from the computer:)
Sounds like you had a wonderful holiday.....and what an adorable picture of "Santa"....she is so cute!!
I have never had a pool in my backyard, so no advice to give, but I am with you.... I would most definitely want a fence of some sort for peace of mind.

Welcome back Colleen!!! Adorable picture!!!!
We did not put a fence around our pool this time...instead we have a safety cover that closes with a touch of a button...they are kind of pricey to have installed but we are very happy with it.
In the past we had a fence around our pool.
So happy to see you back Colleen!
Well moving can be a bit painful, who am I kidding it is very painful and I've had my share of moving. I do find it rewarding when I de-clutter and get organized.
When we lived in California(SF area) we had a pool and a fence of course. I feel much safer with a fence. I think my favorite is the wrought iron kind...
No ideas about the fence (never had a pool) but boy that pool is beautiful! I am going to have to find a way to visit you soon!
Love the Faith as Santa picture.I just love those rosebud lips of hers!
Aw how cute is she?? Love that look. We have an outdoor pool and just made sure that we taught Amy-Li to swim real quick! But we do have a child safety net, we decided not to go with a fence as it ruins the free flow of the pool.
Love Jules

Faith is just the sweetest child....I love all of her different looks! I can't wait to see all the pictures of your house!!!!!
great pool. and great photo of Faith. not sure about the fence? I think a portable one that way when you feel comfortable with it all soon you can do away with it and not that much into the money pit. you can always get a motion sensor alarm.
