HO. HO. HO (Sarcastically said as in Christmas Story)

We decided to try our towns "breakfast with Santa" this year. I thought it would be a fun way for Faith to visit Santa and get photos without dealing with the mall crowds. I am very picky about my Santa's and just LOVE a great Santa! You can imagine my face when I turned to see him........

Not everyone is cut out to be Santa, and this was one of them! I almost refused to take photos but Faith was so intent in telling him exactly what she wanted in full detail! By the time she was through I think Santa had a real headache! lol

Our official Santa photo this year! LOL We'll have something to look back and laugh on!

My beautiful girl!
Faith brought a candy cane from home to give to Santa. Wish he would have been a little more grateful! lol
The whole breakfast really was a joke. I am not one to complain but with what we paid to go to this I called the city this morning to let them know I was not happy. Like I said, I am very picky about my Santa's!:)

Last year we had such a wonderful Santa visit! Faith is actually wearing the same outfit she had on as this year.....of course with a much better Santa! You can see HERE!

Happy Veterans Day...........

Dale served 21 years in the US Navy and we couldn't be more proud of him! We didn't think he was going to have the day off today (usually they let him leave early on Veterans Day) but his boss came to him yesterday and said enjoy your day off tomorrow. It's nice having the day to spend together as a family.

Happy Veterans Day to all those that served and are serving today and their families!!!

Black & White Wednesday~Celebrating November National Adoption Month

I can't believe it was over 6 years ago that I became blessed to be called Mother to this beautiful child!
November is National Adoption Month and my hope is that more hearts will be filled to experience this most amazing gift called adoption.

HaPPy hALLowEeN!!!!!!

Here it is! Faith's "trick or treat" costume she picked out!

Her eyes lit up when she saw it at the store. She has never even seen the movie, but she loved the costume. I wasn't too thrilled about getting it, but have to say she makes an awfully cute Avatar~
 Wishing everyone a "spooktacular" Halloween!!!!!

and I thought vampires were suppose to be scary!

Today was Faith's annual school costume parade and classroom party. Faith loves to dress up and each year she can never decide what she wants to be. She takes after her Mom that way. Never can make up our minds! She is also very clever and has decided that each year she needs to pick out 2 costumes. One for her school parade and one for trick or treating on Halloween night. A little tradition she has started. This year she decided to go as a vampire for her school parade......
We had a chance of rain today and it was not looking too good this morning for the parade. But thankfully the rain held off and the parade was a great success!

She is the prettiest vampire I have ever seen!!! :)
Faith's teacher said to me today that she wishes she could bottle up Faith's enthusiasm and hand it out. She is always commenting on her zest for life!
I enjoyed planning the classroom party and stayed for most of the day. It just makes my day watching the kids have so much fun! Tomorrow we have Reed's school Harvest Festival and Sunday will be trick or treating. The boys are milking it out (again!) and plan to dress up and go trick or treating too!   Stay tuned for Faith's next costume...........!

Tu Tu Sweet.........

Faith was invited to a "ballerina" birthday party today.  At first she wasn't too thrilled about it as ballet is just not her cup of tea. She is more of a "hip hop" type of girl :) I was really excited for her to go as I knew the Mom was going all out. Faith ended up having a really fun time. There was a professional ballerina there that taught them all kinds of moves.

The Mom made all of the girls these sweet tutus and head pieces.

And special photos were taken with the "real life ballerina!" There was some time for the girls to ask her some questions and Faith raised her hand and said, "I don't have a question, just a comment....you are very pretty."

They decorated their own cupcakes! Faith calls hers "candy island" :)
Such a very sweet day we had!!!!!

black & white Wednesday.... we're still here!!!

Can't believe how long it has been since I have posted! I really can't believe it is already the middle of October!!! Nothing too exciting going on, just busy, busy, busy between the kids schools and activities. I feel like I live in my van these days! With being room Mom for two classes and also I have volunteered to be the "art docent" for Faith's classroom (which is really quite amusing as I have no art skills whatsoever!) my days are only going to get busier with all the excitement of the holidays coming up.

One thing I really wanted to try and do this year was have a nice professional family photo taken for Christmas. We have yet to have a professional family picture taken! All of our family photos are ones taken from vacations or holidays by either someone that happens to be near by or by using the good old "self timer."
By the way things are going..looks like another Christmas may pass without that nice professional family photo taken.

This might just be the best I get this year!
the long road
We took these a couple months ago on our trip to the Sierra mountains. And they were taken using the good ole' self timer!
It was pretty amusing really! I wanted to try and get our dogs in with us as well, but after a few tries realized we were lucky if we even managed to get the 5 of us in! The photo below is how most of the photos turned out!
Like I said.....quite amusing!!!  :)

Head on over to Lisa's at black and white Wednesday from the link above~you will get the privileged of seeing her gorgeous new daughter Reagan!
