(Excuse me as a take a trip down memory lane of past Halloween's..................)
On Friday the boys went to a friends house after school and they were invited to stay for the evening. So with her brothers gone we decided to take Faith out to dinner and then to Target to look at Halloween costumes! We have been talking about what she wants to be this year and of course it changes day by day. I have to admit with raising 2 little guys and my Halloweens full of super heroes, ghosts, phantoms, etc..... I was so looking forward to all of these Halloweens full of princesses, fairies, and all things pretty and girly. Ha!
Faith's first Halloween home with us she was only 16 months and not walking yet. I decided we had many of years ahead of us to dress up in all those beautiful princess costumes so I went with cute and comfy for her and found this cute little giraffe suit and indeed she made the cutest little giraffe. We went "trunk or treating" at the military base (in England) and she had a blast............

look how smart she was to put one in her mouth and grab another one! lol (and yes that is a toothbrush in her other hand..someone was giving out toothbrushes)
By her 3rd Halloween I was determined she would be a princess no matter what!!:)
I had a precious Snow White costume I had put away for her and when time came for picking out costumes I pulled it out. Faith immediately said no she wanted to be an animal. I came up with the idea that I would dress as one of the Snow White characters with her. It worked! She loved the idea! So I finally had my "princess" that Halloween. Faith was Snow White and I the wicked queen.....................
Faith and Mommy! Oops! I mean Snow White and the wicked queen! So last year as Faith's 4th Halloween rolled around, I had high hopes that again Faith would be dressing as a princess. sigh.........not having it! She wanted to be Batman! Luckily I found a cute Bat girl costume that she thought was just the coolest thing............................

She did make an awfully cute Bat girl!
So on Friday as we walked through Target checking out all the Halloween costumes I no longer had my hopes up that she would pick out that beautiful princess costume (well, ok maybe just a little;) I figured she would pick out another super hero or maybe an animal costume. Yes, I was prepared for a super hero costume, but I was not prepared for this...................

Captain America!! Yep! Faith took one look at the Captain America costume and said, "I want that one!" I tried to persuade her over to the cute Wonder girl or Super girl costumes. I can deal with the super heroes, but I thought it would at least be of her own gender! Nope, her mind was made up! She proudly carried it around with a big smile on her face all the way up to the cash register. (Of course Dale was proud as can be as he was a huge captain America fan when he was a boy and we have pictures of him dressed up in a Captain America costume as a kid)
When we got to the register Faith handed her costume to the lady and she asked Faith
"Is this for you?"
Faith proudly said "yes, it sure is!"
The lady then says, "What about a pretty princess?"
Faith, (shaking her head) "I'm going to save the world!"
That's my girl!!!! No time for princesses, she has better things to do.....................

That is hysterical, Colleen!! Your girl knows what she wants! I enjoyed seeing all of her costumes over the past few years...and yes, she is most adorable in ALL of them!!!
I'm cracking up over here!! What a fun look back on her past Halloween's! I'm counting on Mia being Belle this year...although I love the idea of a little girl "saving the world" :)
Omigosh! Faith and Katie-Beth HAVE to be related! What tom-boys we have. I LOVE the Captain America costume!
My struggle right now is to get them both in matching costumes. I thought this would be my last chance, but I may have to give up on it!
Hurray for Faith! I know she is going to save the world some day!
Ramona, It's funny because Faith is so calm and gentle and she doesn't really like sports so you would think she would love all the girly stuff, yet when it comes to other things like dolls and princesses she wants nothing to do with them. Makes me wonder if this is due to having big brothers?? I don't know?? She is just one silly girl!:)
You go Faith, and i just know that your precious Mommy will be cheering you on.
The world sure needs girls like you sweetie!!!!
I love your costume

OMG! This is SO funny (not so much for you, I know!) and such a glimpse into the future for us! Annaliesa wants to be Belle (but she's too little to fit into any of the princess costumes)! Plan B! Not sure what that is yet!
Have fun, Faith!!!
